THE ASTON MARTIN WORKS SALE will be held on 21 May 2016

Newport Pagnell, Aston Martin Works Service by Bonhams.

An interesting question that may be answered. Will we start to see DB4, 5, 6 prices soften?

One item that  stands out will be  a rare Aston Martin Works team car – chassis number DB3S/5 – which was campaigned in period by such legendary racing drivers as Sir Stirling Moss, Peter Collins and Roy Salvadori,  estimated  at $12M to $14M AUD, it may possibly set a new record for an  Aston Martin !

Red Bull Racing confirms Aston Martin tie-up

Aston Martin makes one of the company’s most significant strategic announcement in Melbourne during the Australian Grand Prix. I was very lucky to be representing AMOC Vic during the announcement.

The ‘innovation partnership’ will see Red Bull Racing’s Chief Technical Officer, Adrian Newey, and Aston Martin’s Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman, collaborate on project ‘AM-RB 001’, which will combine cutting-edge F1 technology with Aston Martin’s signature design.

db11 latest photo

This  is the first “real” photo of the new DB11 without any camouflage.

Below is an artist’s impression of the front view. Note the grill is taller than current models (except Rapide). We believe the headlights may also have a taller profile than shown below.

… and if you love everything about having a 6.0 litre V12 under your right foot, you’d better get one now. They are  being replaced with a 5.2-litre V12 twin-turbo and a 4.0 litre V8.

DB10 Bond Car

Aston Martin is very much in the news recently with the imminent release of the latest Bond movie Spectre. Aston Martin produced only ten, DB10 that featured in Spectre. I came across a great Link that showcases the DB10, well worth a look. Aston Martin’s Marek Reichman takes Jay Leno for a ride in the actual DB10 Bond Car he designed specifically for the film.

“On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”

It’s impossible to talk about Aston Martin without the association of the infamous 007, Commander Bond.

Reliable intelligence  gathered from the recently held  Spy Fest  in Goulburn  NSW  tells me a rather famous  Victorian AMOC member & his partner together  with  his even more famous DBS Bond car was also  spotted with  George Lazenby, Australia’s only James Bond, attending the events in his home town as guest of honor.

This guy is amazing! John Bussell – Aston Martin DB4 Lightweight 1961- AMOC Donington Intermarque July 2012.

John Bussell on wets at Donington, AMOC Intermarque, handed over to Conor O’Brien in 1st place on a drying track. Conor finished 3rd on wets. Last 10 minutes and some safety car footage cut. Another Masterclass on how to race an Aston Martin DB4 Lightweight by John Bussell this time in the wet.

1923 Aston Martin 1½-Litre Sports
Chassis no. 1920 –  The earliest known surviving ‘production’ Aston Martin.

According to the marque historian, Inman Hunter, chassis number ‘1920’ is the oldest surviving production Aston Martin and one of a handful of early Aston Martins in roadworthy condition. Configured as a two-seat, open-wheel competition car, it features all-wheel cable brakes, wire wheels, a boat-tail body and a four-cylinder side valve engine.

This amazing car is up for auction on 26 June with Bonhams as part of THE GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED SALE Collector’s Motor Cars and Automobilia Auction, Estimated Value AU$ 360,000 – 460,000.

I think we could easily find a home for this car in Victoria!

We recently came across this interesting photo complete with Daniel Craig inside a specially built DB10 during the filming of the next Bond movie in Italy.

Very nice option available for the DB10. Now you can Drink & Drive at the same time!
